The ACYOA is proud to tell you that it had a very successful year. Many events took place and the ACYOA is once again flourishing. The youth is returning back home, to God’s House. More and more teenagers are joining the ACYOA and more fun and church-orientated activities are taking place as it grows. The ACYOA is now on vacation. However, don’t forget that we are still active.

The last event that took place was remarkable and extremely fun. The ACYOA had a car wash in the church parking lot on June 22, 2008. Just imagine teens with hoses, buckets, sponges, and soaking wet clothes, washing cars and serving complimentary lemonade to the customers. It was a great sight to see. Of course my job was to wash the wheels of the cars, which wasn’t the best sight.

Prices were so low, ice-cold lemonade was so refreshing in that weather, and the cars were sparkling. It was a great day for the ACYOA and our parishioners. After 4:00 p.m., the ACYOA thought it was time to call it a day. As the sun began to set, the hardworking teens finally cleaned up the parking lot, and had a nice relaxing dinner.

Pizza was ordered and the ACYOA room became like a resort. Some kids were watching the Euro Cup on television, some kids were talking, and some were even playing football or just hanging out. Eventually, the ACYOA members had to start saying their good-byes to each other for the summer.

The ACYOA elections will be held after we help with one last event for the Armenian Church of the Holy Martyrs. And that one is an event everyone has to come and attend. The ACYOA is proud to help the church in running our annual church festival of 2008 and celebrating the 50^th Anniversary of our beloved church.
