“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace” (Hebrews 4:16)

May we suggest that you add one or more of the following to your resolutions for the year 2009,
in an effort to bring us all closer to the “throne of grace”:

1)  Support the Educational Ministry Program of our parish (EMP): participate regularly in one of our five weekly Bible Study groups attend as many of our EMP lectures as you can volunteer as a Sunday School or Language School teacher offer a lecture in your expertise as part of the EMP educational ministry and/or attend or present a book review in our monthly “Armenian Book Club” sessions.

2)  Support the Youth Ministry of our parish: bring your children or grandchildren to our Sunday School, Language School and/or Day School encourage them to participate in our chapters of ACYOA Srs and Jrs encourage them to join our youth activities such as Youth Choir, Youth Dance Group and Youth Orchestra volunteer as a chaperon for our youth-oriented activities and/or volunteer as an advisor to our Youth Ministry.

3) Outreach: invite your friends and family members to join our parish think of one positive thing about your parish-experience and share it with your friends volunteer in our Narrec Editorial Committee help in maintaining our parish website bring one of your friends or family members to an activity a month volunteer to bring to the church the elderly and those who have no means of coming to church join Fr. Vahan in visiting the Armenian Home in Flushing every Thursday and/or promote parish activities in your circle (e-mail, website, facebook, personal contacts, etc).

4) Help in building the financial security of our parish: if you are not a dues-paying member, please be one this year if you are, commit yourself to a monthly or annual donation as a steward of our parish choose a program or ministry that you enjoy and donate toward that specific cause support our Permanent Trust Fund (PTF) and/or support our “Sister Parish” program in Armenia.

5) Help in expanding our parish facilities: volunteer to serve on the Building Committee support the Building Fund financially have your business or company support the building project as part of their annual charitable donations (since what we are building is a community center and not a church) and/or promote our expansion program with your friends, extended family members and acquaintances.

6) Support our weekly church services: be part of our church services regularly volunteer as a Scripture reader sing in the choir, serve at the altar help Parish Council members on-duty and/or support the purchase of liturgical items needed for church services.

7) Fundraising: volunteer in the major fundraising projects of the parish: join the annual Street Festival team of volunteers suggest new fundraising ideas to members of the Parish Council and volunteer to chair or participate in preparing and offering them purchase one or more of our annual 50/50 raffle tickets help in selling our annual 50/50 raffle tickets to your coworkers, acquaintances and friends

and/or remember the church in your will.

8) Maintain our facilities: Join our Facilities Committee volunteer your expertise in maintaining and repairing the building and facilities of our parish (some of which are half a century old!) suggest ideas to the Parish Council for maintaining and renovating the existing structure and/or donate toward the purchase of new furniture desperately needed for the church and school buildings.

9) Cultural and Social Programs: regularly and actively participate in our cultural programs such as the annual Cultural Night and the various cultural evenings participate in our Shnorhali Chorale participate in our Theatrical Group and/or volunteer in our "Family Nights" on Fridays.

10) Be part of the parish administration: run for an office in the parish (Parish council, auxiliaries, parish delegate, auditing committee, or nominating committee).
