For the month of December, the ACYOA Juniors had plenty of activities planned. The Coat and Blanket Drive was a success, with more than two big boxes, which were placed in different parts of the church building, being filled up. After a couple of meetings, and days of thinking of new ways to help the church, the Juniors came to a unanimous decision to decorate the exterior of the church for Christmas. On Friday, December 8th, 2006, the Juniors spent over four hours putting up Christmas lights and decorations, which were donated by Susan Chagachbanian and Raindew. A special thank you to Susan and the participating Raindew store, for helping us make our church look beautiful for the holidays.
Sunday, December 17th, the ACYOA hosted a Christmas Bake sale and Poinsettia sale! Thanks to all for supporting the Juniors, and for trying some of their delicious homemade goods. Other events, such as visiting the Armenian Old Age Home, and volunteering at a NYC Soup Kitchen, are just some of the many ways that the Juniors were willing to help the community during the holiday season.
Certain activities and outings are open to young parishioners who are not members of the ACYOA. Come and have a good time, make new friends, and feel good that you are making a difference in the world.
