The Women's Guild hosted the Saintly Women's Day & Mid-Lenten Luncheon on Saturday, March 25.  About 40 women gathered in the church sanctuary for a service dedicated to the widows of martyrs killed in the Battle of Avarayr. Following the church service, everyone enjoyed a very lavish lunch of Lenten dishes provided by the members of the Guild in the church auditorium. Our speaker of the day, Arpi Nakashian, Department of Creative Ministries of the Eastern Diocese, spoke beautifully about the wives of the soldiers who encouraged their husbands to fight against the Persians and explained how Saintly Women's Day is Vartanantz Day.
