Sunday School
On September 17, the Sunday School teachers, board and Fr. Abraham welcomed back students and parents on its Opening Day. There were warm hugs around the room during registration, followed by an informative explanation of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross and Antasdan by Fr. Abraham. It was an interactive service with students and teachers taking part in the bible readings. After the students went to class, parents stayed for a parent meeting led by co-superintendent Elise Antreassian, with an ice-breaker that prompted much laughter. Parents were reminded that they play a vital role in the faith formation of their child/ren and that a new three-part parent workshop will be offered the first Sunday of October, November and December to give them the necessary tools for success. Der Hayr exclaimed that we are a "family" and was so happy that he could spend the morning with the students and parents.
Armenian Language School
On Saturday, September 16, registration for the HMALS Nursery / Pre-K, and Kindergarten through to the 7th grade classes took place in the church auditorium and the HMALS Board and Faculty welcomed students for the first day of class. If you were unable to attend last week and want your child(ren) to be a part of the HMALS family, please stop by the HMALS office on Saturdays at church between 9:30am and 1:00pm to speak with a member of the Executive Board.
