Last Sunday, Holy Martyrs held its annual Parish Assembly and elections for lay leadership positions. Bruce Ashbahian was elected as Assembly Chair and June Kasarjian Skolnick served as Assembly Secretary. After a brief review and approval of the 2018-19 budget, a discussion and vote took place about the status of the 210th Street house. Vacated since last summer, as per the decision of the 2017 Parish Assembly, a vote to demolish the house was approved. In the near future, after demolition, the Parish Council was authorized to use the vacant property as additional parking and a open field space for the use of the church, auxiliaries, organizations and schools. Reports from the schools and auxiliaries were also approved during the meeting.
Pending approval by the Diocese, the following individuals were elected to office: PARISH COUNCIL: Dr. Lynn Cetin, Aram Ciamician, Robert Haroutunian, Zarmi Megherian, Nichan Tchorbajian and Raymond Tellalian; NOMINATING COMMITTEE: Patricia Apelian Aitken, Lara Ciamician, Gregory Manuelian, Karen Ajamian Smaldone, Betty Tellalian; PTF: Gregory Dadourian; AUDITING COMMITTEE: Laura Policano; RESERVE FUND: Alex Baron.
