The fall 2018 ACYOA Juniors sports weekend was held in Watervliet, NY over Columbus Day Weekend. St. Peter’s Armenian Church hosted the event and the Watervliet community was kind enough to open their homes to the youth. Buses arrived filled with anxious teens ready to begin the weekend. On Friday night, everyone happily greeted their friends from the various chapters and then joined together in prayer in the church sanctuary before departing home with their host families. On Saturday, the Juniors participated in and cheered on their friends in many fun events, including volleyball, basketball, chess, ping-pong, tavloo, and, for the first time, Wiffle ball. Saturday night, all attended an the indoor/outdoor party with a DJ and bonfire. Everyone enjoyed themselves and danced the night away. Sunday morning, the Juniors attended church services and then went to the gym to continue the sporting activities. That night the awards ceremony and wrap up party took place. All departed on Monday after a great weekend of events. Many thanks to Medeia Mark, Youth Director, and Johnny Chadoian, a seminarian, for chaperoning Holy Martyrs' ACYOA Juniors.
