HMALS

HMALS

Saturday, March 22, began as a typical day at HMALS, however the children were anxious for dismissal to attend a “Happy Birthday Students” event. While the classes were in session the auditorium was quickly transformed into a party room. The event was hosted by the Executive Board. The tables were covered with decorative table cloths, plates, napkins, hats and balloons.  The children personalized their hats with stickers and adorned themselves with colorful beads, bracelets and glow necklaces. Fr. Abraham welcomed everyone to the event and mentioned that HMLAS goes beyond the classroom setting. He was pleased to see parents, grandparents and friends present. Board Chair Susie Horioglu thanked all present for coming to celebrate everyone’s special day. In addition, craft stations were set up with Play-Doh kits, coloring pages, and foam door hangers with an assortment of foam stickers. Floor games were set up as well.  A photo section was also available with fun photo props. The children had lunch followed by an amazing magic show. Once the show was over, it was time for the cake. In addition to a traditional a cake with candles, cupcakes were given to the children as they gathered around the table and sang “happy birthday” to everyone. The party winded down with musical chairs.  Everyone was a winner and no one left empty handed. On behalf of the Executive Board, the HMALS family would like thank all the parents who helped make this a memorable event!
