The Armenian Church of the Holy Martyrs Vacation Bible School (VBS) returned again for another successful year from June 29 - July 3, 2015. This year’s exciting theme was Everest - Conquering Challenges with God's Mighty Power. The children learned each day that God has the power to provide, comfort, heal, forgive, and love us forever!
Over 30 students enjoyed daily Bible study classes given by Rev. Fr. Abraham Malkhasyan, art, gym activities, Armenian lessons and even a cooking class. Special visitors have come to Holy Martyrs, including Olaf from Frozen, a magician, a scientist from Mad Science showed and taught about the amazing properties of fire and combustion and a demonstration involving dry ice entertained all, 16 live animals were brought to the church's parking lot to learn about, touch and feed, and 2 police officers spoke about safety and bullying and gave the children an opportunity to sit in a police car and activate the siren.
All of this was made possible by our amazing team of volunteers and all our parents for supporting this important church activity for our children. "Nurturing our children through so many different venues will help build their confidence and teach them about God’s powers to love and forgive. And in turn, will help them to love and forgive others. With each child’s enthusiasm and sparkle in their eye, we feel that we are accomplishing just that," says Shoushan Saraydarian, VBS Director.
