On Sunday, February 14, a Citizen Preparedness Training Course sponsored by NY State was offered in the church auditorium. The Training Program, presented by Army Sgt. Gaspar Teri III, highlighted the tools and resources necessary to prepare for any type of disaster – natural or manmade.  Participants were advised on how to properly prepare for any disaster, including developing a family emergency plan and stocking up on emergency supplies. Due to the holiday weekend, school vacations and the extremely cold temperature, turnout was lower than expected for the program. However, due to the highly informative presentation and excellent feedback from the attendees, the program will be scheduled again at a future date so that more people can attend.
