On Tuesday, March 15, Fr. Abraham attended the spring meeting of SCOOCH (Standing Conference of the Oriental Orthodox Churches in America) at the Virgin Mary & St. Pachomius Coptic Orthodox Church in Stony Point, New York. His Eminence Abp. Khajag Barsamian chaired the meeting and Fr. Simeon Odabashian, Fr. Daniel Findikyan, Fr. Diran Bohajian, Fr. Mesrob Hovsepyan and Fr. Abraham represented the Armenian clergy. The meeting was opened with a prayer followed by welcoming remarks by His Grace Bishop David of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of NY & NE. Representatives from each orthodox denomination then presented reports and shared news about their churches. Khajag Srpazan and Hayr Simeon spoke about last year's Genocide Centennial Commemorations and this year's Diocesan theme. The importance of working together to become stronger in political circles was also discussed. A gathering in June involving the families of the clergymen is being planned.
