Godparents and godchildren of all ages worshiped together in church last Sunday and renewed their baptismal vows in a special Godparents Sunday service! The role of a godparent is very important. A godparent makes a promise to encourage their godchild to grow in faith. A godparent also commits to helping their godchild understand how to live their life in a Christian way. Through the Sacrament of Baptism, a new Christian is brought into the life of the Church. It was beautiful to see godparents with their godchildren standing together and sharing the joy of the important bond established between them years ago.
