Old Age Home
On Sunday, October 16, the ACYOA Seniors made a group visit to the New York Armenian Home in Flushing, Queens. In an effort to extend outreach from our church into our community, our youth group planned the visit to spend some time with the residents of the Home and to entertain them with games and other activities. The ACYOA members got to spend time speaking with the residents individually and learning about their life stories. The girls of the group brought along supplies and painted nails for the ladies at the Home. Other members had a chance to play tavloo and other games with the residents. Finally, one of our members, Jack Jamgochian, played several Armenian songs on his saxophone, which the residents sang along to and very much enjoyed. Overall, the visit to the Armenian Home was a rewarding experience for all of our ACYOA members. They were able to extend the fellowship of our church into our community, helping them fulfill the ACYOA's circles of the cross.
