On Sunday, January 8, a special Recognition Fellowship was held in honor of lifelong parishioner, Bruce Ashbahian, for his years of exemplary leadership and service to the Holy Martyrs community. Among the many people present for this memorable occasion were Bruce's parents, John and Virginia Ashbahian, who live in Florida. The Fellowship Program, emceed by Bruce's uncle, Ray Tellalian, was a wonderful afternoon of congratulatory remarks and many laughs, offered by Bruce's friends and family members, including his three daughters Melissa, Danielle and Michelle. "We don't help the church to get thanks," said Bruce. "We do this because we are a family." At the conclusion of the program, Fr. Abraham personally thanked Bruce for his guidance during his own transition to Holy Martyrs and referred to him as a wonderful "ecclesial leader."
Fr. Abraham, the Parish Council and the entire Armenian community congratulate Bruce Ashbahian on this well-deserved honor. Bruce's name will be the 47th name added to the church's bronze Honor Roll plaque in the vestibule of the church. Many thanks to the Fellowship Committee, chaired by Betty Tellalian, and the many family members and friends who attended to make the afternoon memorable.
