On Sunday, March 12, the Holy Martyrs Seniors basketball team won the ACSA 2017 Championships with a victory over the St. Leon’s Seniors. This was their first championship since 2003. The team was awarded a large Championship trophy while each player was presented with a trophy. In addition, players Edward Nemtzian, Nicholas Ovanesian, and James Zobian were named to the ACSA Seniors All Tournament Team. Later that afternoon, our Holy Martyrs Men’s team beat Sts. Vartanantz Men’s to win the 2017 Men’s Championships and were presented with the Championship trophy. It was our Men's first championship since 2011. In addition, Aret Akbork, Steve Guendjoian Jr. and Garen Spendjian all made the All Tournament Team. The day ended with the annual Holy Martyrs Sports Awards Dinner, with over 150 Juniors, Seniors, Girls and Men’s players, coaches, team representatives, family members and Fr. Abraham in attendance.
