Science Fair

Science Fair

The Holy Martyrs Armenian Day School commemorated its 29th Annual Science Fair with great enthusiasm, excitement and a lot of snow! The Church Auditorium was transformed into a museum full of educational and beautiful exhibitions from Nursery through Sixth Grade during the week of March 13-17. Students were eager to introduce their topics to their fellow peers, teachers, administrators and parents. The Nursery Class explored the Five senses. Kindergarten students were energized by learning about the power of electricity and circuits through experiments and they learned how vital it is to our everyday life. First Grade taught us about the human body along with their specially designed human body costumes, songs and recitations. Second Grade traveled to different habitats and studied animal life in those habitats. The Third Grade class pushed themselves through the stratosphere and skyrocketed through our Solar System, recreating the planets and learning all about each of them. Fourth Grade delved further into the body organ systems, showcasing how our bodies work and function. Fifth grade learned about the Scientific Method by conducting various experiments.  Finally, the Sixth Graders studied Nutrition, paying close attention to all the vitamins and nutrients our bodies need to stay healthy.

HMADS was fortunate to have many special guests throughout the week.  AESA NY-NJ members joined us in judging our Invention Center.  Our guest speaker and Fulbright Scholar Dr. Nver Khatchaturyan, presented "Where Water Goes After We Use It", and Dr. Angela Mouradyan presented about Oral Hygeine.

We are so proud of all of our students for their bright and creative inventions and we are thankful to all our special guests and visitors for joining us during this special time.
