The Promise
Holy Martyrs was one of many parishes that organized private screenings of "The Promise" during it's opening weekend. Last Saturday, April 22, over 400 parishioners and friends met at AMC Raceway Theater in Westbury to show unified support for this historic Hollywood movie about the atrocities of the Armenian Genocide. In order to keep "The Promise" running in theaters, all Armenians are encouraged to see the movie and to invite their non-Armenian friends to see it too. "Our Holy Martyrs kept their promise," said Fr. Abraham last Sunday. "The promise is simple. The promise you have made at your baptism is to live your life with Christ. In order to 'keep the promise' and to keep the memory of our Holy Martyrs alive, we must spread the message of Christ."
