WG Fall Trip
On Thursday, October 12, seventeen Women's Guild members visited the Chelsea Mansion in East Norwich for their fall trip. The group enjoyed a very informative docent talk and tour of the 40 room French Renaissance style mansion on Long Island's North Shore. The house is a blend of French, English, and Chinese influence and was built in 1924 by the prominent architectural firm of Delano and Aldrich for its owners, attorney Benjamin Moore and his wife Alexandra. The home exudes a warm welcoming mood as well as an elegance and charm surrounded by beautiful gardens. Chelsea Mansion is one of Long Island's premier Gold Coast mansions owned and run by Nassau County and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Following the mansion tour, the group led by Claire Bardakian, enjoyed a three-course Italian luncheon at Angelina's in East Norwich.
