HMALS Hantes

On Saturday, October 28, HMALS held their annual Holy Translators (Tarkmanchatz) assembly. Susie Horioglu, HMALS Chair, welcomed family and friends to the assembly in observance of the day created by the Armenian Apostolic Church to honor a group of literary figures who translated the Holy Bible into the Armenian Language. The celebration of the Feast of Holy Translators or Tarkmanchatz Day commemorates the people who created the Armenian alphabet and became the founders of Armenian literature, written language and schools. Principal, Elizabeth Khodabash, commended Fr. Abraham, Zarmi Megherian, Parish Council liaison, and Garen Karamyan for their tireless efforts to support the vision of HMALS which fosters the preservation of the Armenian language, culture and heritage. Mrs. Khodabash also thanked family and friends for supporting the children as they sang songs and recited poems. Fr. Abraham enjoyed the assembly and reminded the children the importance of this feast day and the role of each literary figure. Everyone enjoyed light refreshments following the assembly.
