Celebrating Graduates
On Saturday, June 2, the Holy Martyrs community celebrated the high school and college graduations of current ACYOA members with a festive luncheon and program. Fr. Abraham began the celebration with a prayer and welcoming remarks. A slide show of photos of each graduate "through the years" gave the afternoon a nostalgic touch. The highlight of the afternoon was guest speaker, Yelena Ambartsumian, a Fordham alumni and practicing lawyer. Ambartsumian spoke about her journey as a child refugee from Baku to America and tied in her amazing family story to the pursuit of success. Dr. Lynn Cetin, Parish Council liaison to the ACYOA, then congratulated the graduates and reminded them that even as they go on to the next step in their lives, the Church will always be here for them. Each honoree was then presented with an ornament commemorating Holy Martyrs 60th Anniversary. The Holy Martyrs community wises all our graduates and all ACYOA members the utmost success!
