Last Sunday, following the Badarak, Fr. Abraham and a procession of deacons and choir members, went out to the church plaza where the traditional Antasdan service took place in honor of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Fr. Abraham blessed the four corners of the earth and the trays of basil (a symbol of royalty). The faithful then approached the cross, a symbol of Jesus Christ and a reminder of His Resurrection, kissed it, and took some basil for home.
On Sunday evening, Fr. Abraham joined Fr. Daniel Findikyan, Primate, and many of his clergy brothers at St. Vartan Cathedral for another Antasdan service.
