Independence Day
On Friday, September 21, all of the Holy Martyrs Armenian Day School students gathered in Kalustyan Hall wearing garmir, gabooyd, and narinchakooyn accessories in honor of Armenian Independence Day. Parents were treated to a short performance of beautiful songs and poetry by the students from grades 1-6. The children ended the program chanting "Azad, Angakh, Hayastan." The students then proceeded to walk around the block waving their Armenian flags and met once again in the church plaza. Fr. Abraham and the sixth grade class raised the Armenian flag as the students and parents sang "Mer Hayrenik." What a beautiful sight it was to see our flags flying in the cool air. Happy 27th birthday to our Armenia!
