60th Gala
Family and friends gathered on Saturday, November 3 to joyfully celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Consecration of the Armenian Church of the Holy Martyrs. Presided over by the Primate, the Very Reverend Father Daniel Findikyan, the sold out event brought together old and new parishioners to celebrate the past and generate excitement for the future. Reflecting the evening's theme, "Treasure our Roots, Inspire our Future," guests included a large group of young adults, as well as many families representing the original Founders and Building Committee Members. Some traveled from as far away as California, Canada, Florida, North Carolina and Virginia, as well as a large group from New Jersey, all of whom came to celebrate their families’ roots in our church.
Organizers displayed on rotation hundreds of photos, which guests took home on a "Memory Stick," and also created a "Memory Lane" featuring beautiful memorabilia and dozens of posters of old documents, church news, and announcements. Also featured was a short video, "Renewing a Promise,” which reminded guests what an incredible and powerful history Holy Martyrs has enjoyed but the important role we each must play to ensure our church community thrives going forward. After a brief program with moving and inspirational words from the Primate and Fr. Abraham, guests had the chance to continue talking and enjoying each other as they danced non-stop to The Ara Dinkjian Ensemble.
