Sunday, November 18, was a special day for over 75 Holy Martyrs parishioners who traveled to St. Vartan Cathedral for our parish pilgrimage. Many had visited the Cathedral in the past, but to walk through the majestic Cathedral doors and see Fr. Abraham celebrating Badarak with our altar servers at his side, and to hear our choir members singing beautifully with the amazing acoustics of the Cathedral, was something special.
“The heart of Christianity is love,” said Fr. Abraham during his homily. “If we do not live a life of humility, then that love is meaningless. Humility is the key. We must be forgiving and think about one another. Serving the Lord means serving others.” Humility and love for one another is what our forefathers and mothers had when they envisioned building our parish and the Cathedral for the future generations.
Following the inspiring Badarak, all were treated to a lovely luncheon in the Cathedral’s Guild Hall. Thank you to Very Rev. Fr. Mesrop Parsamyan, Cathedral Vicar, and George and Lorraine Marootian, members of the Cathedral Committee, for welcoming Holy Martyrs to the Cathedral Complex.
