Sunday School
Last Sunday, our Sunday School students filled 50 Christmas stockings for the Northport VA Medical Center Women Veterans Program. The stockings were lovingly filled with hundreds of items generously donated by our church families. Items included nail polish, lotion, lip balm, nail care, soaps, gloves, scarves, socks, tea, hot cocoa, and more. These were gifts of gratitude and love, and it was a wonderful teaching moment for our students to learn how to give back to others. After the 50 stockings were stuffed, the students had enough supplies to fill an additional 20 make-up bags! Many thanks to Martha Derderian for spearheading this outreach project and for donating the red stockings, as well as, for delivering the gifts to the VA with Cora-Ann Asadorian. The VA Medical Center serves 1200 female veterans annually and provides basic health care. The program manager and staff were overwhelmed and visibly moved by our gifts! Thank you to everyone who donated to this special project!
