Sunday School
The Sunday School held its annual Christmas Program last Sunday in the church sanctuary following Divine Liturgy. The program was dedicated to Denise Meshejian, a former Sunday School student who is gravely ill, as she was unable to perform with her South Shore Brass Band as in previous years.
The Pre-K students, dressed as little angels, sang “Jesus Loves Me”, followed by the K/1 thru 7th graders leading the parishioners in singing 12 Days of Christmas song while students in 8th thru 11th grade narrated the birth of Jesus Christ. The finale included a heart-melting, beautiful nativity scene complete with wise men, angels, Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus, who was three-month-old Theodore Banoub (future Sunday School Student!). Parents and parishioners received gifts of candy canes from our little preschoolers before departing. The Sunday School wishes the entire Holy Martyrs community a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
