Lenten Project
On Sunday, March 3, the Sunday School and members of the ACYOA contributed bread, cheese and bologna to make a record 1,026 sandwiches! The sandwiches where donated later that afternoon to the Mary Brennan INN in Hempstead, NY, a local soup kitchen. Celebrating Poon Paregentan, “day of good living”, in such a meaningful way resonated with the students as they happily put those in need first. As Dr. Arthur Asadorian, co-superintendent, explained to all in attendance, “this is an opportunity to do as Jesus Christ did – to put ourselves second as we put those in need first.” Registration for Sunday School is ongoing. We continue to welcome children and young adults ages 2-17 so please stop by the Sunday School office any Sunday to register!
