Presentation
Last Sunday, Sarah Derderian, co-founder of Dogs of Gyumri (D.O.G), gave a special presentation during the Fellowship Hour. Sarah, originally from Philadelphia, has been living in Gyumri for the past 3 years. D.O.G. was started in the fall of 2017 and is a non-profit, donation based animal welfare and adoption center. The mission of D.O.G. is to promote the welfare of animals through education, information, and advocacy. D.O.G. seeks to reduce the population of stray animals through human trap, neuter, vaccinate, release (TNVR) programs. The goal is to re-home puppies while we implement TNVR for adult dogs who are already independent and feral.
The educational aspect of D.O.G. involves going into schools, after school centers, and other organizations to train children on how to be safe around stray dogs and the benefits of having a pet. D.O.G. has partnered with the Paros Foundation, which is based in California. For more information or to make a donation to D.O.G. click here.
