ACYOA Day
The ACYOA Juniors and Seniors celebrated ACYOA DAY on Palm Sunday with a family-style meal of delicious pasta and homemade meatballs (secret recipe!) which was lovingly served to 130 parishioners. The youth teamed up with the Men's Fellowship who graciously mentored the youth in making meatballs on Saturday and helped to prepare the meal on Sunday morning. Many thanks to Dr. Arthur Asadorian for coordinating the Men's Fellowship in this collaborative effort. During the program, ACYOA Jr. members Olivia Nercessian, Chairperson, and Stephen Pidedjian, Vice-Chairperson, spoke about leadership and service, followed by Brian Sarafyan, ACYOA Sr. Chairperson, who highlighted the group's activities this year. Doug Aprahamian, a Holy Martyrs ACYOA alumnus, reminisced how the ACYOA positively influenced his life and encouraged members to get involved and grow the group. Parent Advisor Donna Sirounian, Parish Council Chairperson Aram Ciamician, and Fr. Abraham all reiterated how the youth are our future and that we must engage them spiritually and physically in church life. There was a moment of silence to remember Denise Meshejian, an ACYOA alumna, who passed away in January.
