This year’s successful Vacation Bible School – “Life is Wild - God is Good” – took place from June 24 – June 28, with Fr. Abraham, Lara Ciamician and Shoushan Saraydarian (Co-Chairs) and a crew of volunteers leading the safari! It was a fun-filled, faith-filled experience for everyone involved. Over 60 children (a record number) met daily for a variety of theme-based activities. They learned about the Bible, created wonderful arts and crafts projects, participated in gym activities and a music program. In addition, special guest presenters paid a visit to VBS each day. The students enjoyed a mobile planetarium, playing with animals from a local farm, exploring an ambulance, meeting a dentist and a magician and taking part in Armenian language lessons. The children also participated in a community service project in which they created a "birthday-in-a-box" for homeless children on Long Island. Each birthday box contained everything necessary for a birthday celebration.
VBS is a unique opportunity for the children of our community to learn about God in a fun and friendly atmosphere. The message of the week was highlighted in the daily activities and each child left the program feeling special. Many thanks to all involved who made this week a success!
