Reunion
On Saturday, November 2, over 200 Holy Martyrs Sunday School alumni and faculty, from far and near, gathered together for a fun-filled and nostalgic reunion celebrating the school's 58th year. With smiles and abundant conversation of years gone by, the attendees enjoyed viewing photographs and memorabilia from the school's six decades displayed in the two church halls. A special display of alumni and faculty who have passed on also brought many to tears. A beautiful table of delicious mezzes and desserts kept people in the halls talking until late into the night. The great variety of music by two alumni DJs also provided friends the chance to dance, laugh and reminisce about their younger years at church dances.
The Holy Martyrs Sunday School Reunion Committee is grateful to all who attended the harvest-themed celebration. After all, our alumni are the fruits of our school's hard work and dedication to Christian education. The committee felt especially blessed to have three yeretzgins in attendance that evening - Yn. Yefkin Megherian, the Sunday School's very first superintendent, Yn. Patricia Buttero, and Yn. Karine Malkhasyan. Reunions are a great opportunity for alumni to come back "home" and celebrate the accomplishments of their community. As Fr. Abraham stated so eloquently to the crowded hall of alumni , "This is your home and we are so happy you are here."
