Martyrs Day
On Saturday, April 26th, the HMALS family gathered for prayers on the church plaza, in front of the Weeping Flowering Cherry Tree. The tree, planted by HMALS in 2011 in memory of the Armenians martyred in 1915 is a “living” symbol, which represents “new life”. Fr. Abraham reminded us that although our losses were great, the martyrs fought to keep our faith alive. After a moment of silence and a prayer for the fallen martyrs, each class was given the opportunity to water the tree as a symbol of peace, unity and love.
