On the weekend of July 18-20, our Sunday School Superintendents Elise Antreassian and Lynn Jamie attended the first Diocesan-sponsored National Sunday School Superintendents Summit at The Connors Center in Dover, MA. Organized by the Department of Christian Education and the Summit brought together 28 superintendents from all over the Diocese for two days of “visioning.” Issues such as secularization, shifting family priorities, new communication styles, and the decreasing role of the church in family were debated. The group also developed concrete “out-of-the-box” proposals and are determined to work closely with the leadership of the Armenian Church for a more impactful Sunday School program and a more relevant Church.
