Maestro Vagharshak Ohanyan, artistic director of the Holy Martyrs’ Shnorhali Choir, was recently awarded the Grigor Naregatsi Medal by Hasmik Pogosyan, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia, for his work in preserving and disseminating Armenian culture in the Diaspora. In addition, the International Academy of Education at Yerevan Haybusak University has granted Maestro Ohanyan the title of Professor, honoris causa.  The Shnorhali Choir celebrated these special tributes last Sunday during the fellowship hour, at which time parishioners and friends congratulated Professor Ohanyan on his wonderful achievements.
